My trip with breast cancer

I am 39 years old and have been diagnosed with breast cancer. I have been asked to post my experiences here.

This is of my bald head taken today. It really is the perfect shaped bald head, if I do say so myself. I did have a dream that my hair grew back so much that I didn't have to wear a cap to keep warm! But truthfully, I should lose the little growth I have and most of the other hair that is left on my body over the weekend because of the cumlative effects of the Taxol. Oh, well.  Posted by Picasa

Kimberly, you really do have the perfect head! I know when all my hair fell out I was more worried how my head would look than I was about losing the hair. I don't know why though because I don't leave the house bald--I always wear a hat or bandana. Strange how some things are important to us. I hope you are doing well. I am preparing myself mentally for a double mastectomy in a few weeks. I was upset at first, but now I'm just happy to be one step closer to being cancer-free. It's been an interesting journey so far, but I'm ready to get off this train and look for some "adventure" some where else! I'm certain you share this idea with me.

I check your blog daily for updates and I'm always pleased when I find one. Continue to stay strong and focus on the final goal. We're going to win this war!

    Bless you,
    Fran
